Sunday Mornings

What will service look like for my kids?

Each Sunday we have a Childerns message where all the kids get to come up and have a short lesson that goes along with that Sunday's sermon. All kids are invited to stay for the whole service, though we understand if they need to get some wiggles out! We also have activity bags each week that include coloring sheets,  markers and crayons and then a sheet of learning activitys that go along with the main scripture for that Sunday. We do have a non-staffed nursery that has toys for small kids, as well as classrooms if a quiet moment is needed. We love the sound of kids on Sundays!

What should I wear?

Wear what makes you feel comfortable. We have congregants who wear dresses or suits as well as those who wear shorts and tshirts.

What time is service?

Service is every Sunday at 10 AM

How can I get more involved?

We have plenty of opportunity for you to use your gifts and talents. This can range from helping with coffee time on a Sunday to joining a chruch team, to volunteering your musical or technological gifts. Pastor Aric would be glad to talk with you about it!

What Denomination are you a part of?

We are a part of the PC(USA). Our church is a part of the Presbytery of Des Moines.

Is there time to get to know people before or after the service?

Yes! Many in our church show up early to chat and catch up before the service. We also have fellowship hour every week after the service. There is always coffee and treats! We would love to have you join us.

What is your music and worship style?

We are primarily traditional in our worship style - we use our hymnals, hear music played on the piano, and have physical bulletins with liturgy. Sermons are typically 15ish minutes. At the heart of our worship we seek to pray together, read Scripture, and sing with heartfelt thanksgiving.

We do have a praise band who plays a few contemporary songs on occassion. We also have a screen that is used to display different aspects of our service.

Passing the Peace

Churches should seek to be a place wehre people genuinely love and care for one another - and we beleive we are! This is on full display in our passing of the peace moment of our service. Everyone gets up to greet each other, it is a moment that is not taken lightly!
